My Type 38 series 22 won,t feed more than the first rd. out of mag!!!????

Brand new Norma or hornady, PPC will not feed more than first rd. They don,t line up or stay in mag. Could this mag opening beed hogged out to make it a training single shot???? The rifle is all match great blue and straw colors, no mum and mint bore. I am at a lost that it won,t mag feed. The top of mag lips are in white, but rest of rec. very nice blue. Uggh !!!!! I looked at my T99 and there is metal sides in the mag well and then I looked inside my t38 and you see wood no metal box in mag well. I,am I missing the mag metal box?????

Probably that easy. Otherwise it sounds like the spring doesn't have the push to present the rounds. Could be the lips, do you have one to compare with?

Mag box missing is the likely culprit. (No feed lips on the box, but it does kepp everything lined up properly- both fore and aft and side to side.) Is the rifle still chambered for 6,5mm Japaneseicon?

yes it chambers the 6.5 japanese round fine and bore is like mirror. I,m think your right the metal mag box is missing.I got this rifle to shoot. Someone lightly sanded the stock and mum is ground, but blue and straw colors are strong and ser### match. The bore is perfect. Now to find a T38 mag box. The bubba that took it apart must of lost it. Thanks

I came across a ton of 7.7 parts and remembering seeing a 6.5 box in there let me check again.

    I oddly may have one....

Paid $5 for the first one and it turned out to be a type 99, paid $7 for the second one and it was right! Perfect fit and she feeds from mag perfect. Wow you have to work the bolt back snappy or you could short cycle it. Nice rifle and now for the shooting of it. Thanks for all your help. And thanks riceone to.
