Announcement Patrick Chadwick's Virtual "Have a Speedy Recovery" Card

Patrick Chadwick is going in for shoulder surgery today (26 April 2011)!

He'll likely be off site for a week or so, even longer before he can return to the range.

This h'yar thread is notice to the Milsurps family that you'll have to do without his most helpful posts for a while.

Here's to a quick return to your good "old" self, Patrick!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I'm sure after he empties the pints he can make his posts. Of course the pints will be for medicinal purposes.

I had both shoulders done last year about 10 months apart. You still have the other hand to type with.

By the way, if you haven't already, get the ice machine. It really helped.

I hope you have an easy recovery.

    Jim

Many, many thanks to you all!

Thanks a lot lads - I am touched by these messages!

And as you can see, the mere fact that my right shoulder is temporarily FUBAR does not stop me from typing. In fact, the frustration is causing me to take it out on an innocent keyboard!

The surgery went well. I had been having pains shooting right down into the trigger finger. That was gone immediately after the op. The hardest part is going to be the self-discipline required to leave the big bangers in the cabinet until the physio has kneaded the mechanics back into normal operation - you feel recovered a long time before you are truly recovered. In the meantime, this keyboard will have to suffer...

    Patrick
