Question FN FAL ....... serial numbers

I was perusing a website and noted that some 1800+ FN's from Belgiumicon had been imported into the U.S. in the early 1960's. A listing of their serial numbers was something I found interesting, but have a question for some of you knowledgable FN folks. I see a missing gap in the "1300" range of those imported serial numbers and was wondering where those ones ended up ? Were they a different variant or ?????? Just a curiosity for me, but something I'd like explained.......appreciate your time and answers.

Hi Bill ...... my apologies as I don't recall the website (forum)... I simply run the question through a search engine regarding FN serial numbers and was sent to that specific thread. It was not referencing the 49FN though. When I looked at the serial number listing, it was kind of puzzling for me in seeing the "gaps" of serial numbers so I thought I'd throw it out on this forum to see if anyone had any ideas. Cheers, Liam
