A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Something has been daubed on with a shaving brush. But a layer of some protection is better than no layer of protection

Was suncorite black like that, or is it black paint?

Difficult to explain the correct sunkorite finish but look at an example of BDL icon

's refinishing. This No5 looks like it's been painted with a shaving brush dipped in Valspar super gloss!

Sunkorite it a bit of a temperamental paint and has to be kept stirred to keep the particulates active and mixed but the after baking finish, it's a deep, black hard satin finish. Copied by many and many 'substitutes' but none (?) have succeeded
