Barrel Bands

I am de-sporterizing a No1Mk3, and the middle barrel band has been moved out of alignment with the hole in the original wood. How do I move this band into the correct position?
Also, what is the best way to remove the front ramped sight?
I have all the parts I need to restore it, just don't want to mess anything up. It's my first attempt at this.

Which band? The moving collar on the barrel itself? It is supposed to slide loose. If it's stuck, use a wood dowel and small hamemr to tap it into poisition.

As for the front sight, don't remove the ramp. The sight itself drifts out in a dovetail.

I have seen, and owned and restored, several Mk. III rifles that had a sheet metal ramp that fits over the original front sight base. To remove it, you just drift out the front sight blade, then pry the ramp off. Is this the ramp that you have? Other Mk. III's I've seen actually had the barrel cut back a little, and an entire new base soldered on. To restore one of these, you would need a new barrel.

The band in the middle of the barrel. I have a full length barrel, and it has a sheet metal ramp on the sight. I suspected it might move, but I didn't want to mess it up with heat, or too much force.
The band needs to move a couple inches up, so I will try to move it into alignment.
