    M1a receiver

Hi, I am knew to the forum.
Have had a NEW SA M1Aicon receiver sitting in the safe for 15 or 20 years. Trying to make up my mind, sell receiver or build. I don't shoot the M1A's that much anymore. If I would sell, what the heck are they going for now?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. M1A receivers are going for...

At Champion's Choice http://www.champchoice.com/cat-M1_-_M1A_Custom-363.aspx they are going for $575 when in stock. This is the only dealer I'm aware of for SAI M1Aicon receivers other than Springfield Armory when at Camp Perry. There are several other dealers in receivers, Fulton, LRB, Smith, 7.62 Products. LRB only does forged, Smith is billet machined, Fulton is cast, and 7.62 does both. A good place to advertise is over on the M14 forums: http://m14forum.com/ and http://www.m14raforum.org/forum.php.

Look for the Px or Post Exchange sections. You will have to register, and be sure to include pictures and shipping details.

    HTH

    Bruce

    OR, try the WTS here!

I have been meaning to do another build, but end up usually starting with a complete rifle.

As a potential buyer, I don't like to assign potential prices- "conflict of interest" seems to apply, hence lack of previous reply.

IF it's papered and registered with ATF (in the US), yes. No more "new" since 1986, though, for "regular" citizens.

The situation is a bit more convoluted in Canada. I'll let one of the natives explain that situation!

Amazing how just a reciever can be such "evil". Those things are sold as free spare parts in Europe.
