    1942 Savage No4Mk1*(T) w/HBMCo No32 Mk2 Scope

Previous trips to the range with my Savage resulted in indifferent accuracy with handloads and surplus ball ammunition.

I discovered Peter Laidlericon's article on fitting the forestock on this forum and read and re-read it. After removing the upper handguards on the Savage I discovered that the Enfield barrel was being held firmly in place by the front end of the forward handguard.

After carefull adjustment using Mr. Laidler's excellent instructions, I was able to obtain the following results at 100 yds.! First group was lower left. Over corrected to the right of center, then adjusted final shots into the bullseye. The 10-ring is 1-7/8" dia. and the X-ring is 1" dia.

Ammunition used was Germanicon MEN 83 surplus ball.

Thank You Peter Laidler for helping me get the most out of an old war horse.

That is a mighty fine effort.
Peters ( and others ) articles and help are one of the reasons I stayed on here after discovering it.
