A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. M1917 competition target

OK, now see what an M1917 can do in a competition...

    Attachment 23675

This was created by leaving my sighter target on the board behind the real competition target. That is why the holes are a bit ragged, and x marks the 3 sighters around 1 o'clock.

It also illustrates the limitations of the M1917 sights. I had go down one notch and hold over, thus aiming in the white 6 at about 7 o'clock. So that's how I got the 8s at 12 and 4 o'clock, when I got a tiny bit sloppy!

Firing for a group, off a sandbag this rifle will place everything in a 5 cm group at 100 meters. When circumstances allow, I will fire off a 5-shot group for the Milsurp competition and post it there.

Doug, something goes wrong when I click on the photo. Only half the enlargement appears. Any ideas?

    I fixed it ....

The pics uploaded as an attachment was 2448px × 2958px (scaled to 532px × 643px). For some reason, large pics like this cause the watermarking software to go "crazy"...

    Sorry about that ..

By the way... that is awesome shooting ...

    Regards,
    Doug

Hey many thanks for putting this video up. (I am pintofshite) . Really apreciate your support, I do have more coming on soon. I was shooting free hand, and as always I tend to wobble at the later stages !

    You're welcome ...

Thanks for producing them. I know a lot of old milsurp collectors who perhaps don't get out to shoot these old girls a lot, really enjoy the videos.

    Regards,
    Doug

Many thanks, I know not all ppl like the music, or the long intro to the gun etc.
But what I have tried to do is something different to all the other shooting videos out there, lots of influence from the History channel etc.
I should have some more coming on soon.
