Today, 67 years ago, Allied forces began landing on the northern coast of France icon

. I have a bit of a personal connection, my favorite uncle, Sgt. W. Lee Crowley (1915-1982) of Mobile, Alabama, jumped that morning as a member of B Company, 506th PIR, 101st Abn. Div. He's second from right in the photo, next to my Dad and my other two uncles.

Nice family photo.

D-Day was not much more than a footnote in the newspapers and on TV today, at least what I saw. That's very sad. So many gave so much that day and it barely matters to so few now.
