    Let us remember D-Day

Today, 67 years ago, Allied forces began landing on the northern coast of Franceicon. I have a bit of a personal connection, my favorite uncle, Sgt. W. Lee Crowley (1915-1982) of Mobile, Alabama, jumped that morning as a member of B Company, 506th PIR, 101st Abn. Div. He's second from right in the photo, next to my Dad and my other two uncles.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Nice family photo.

D-Day was not much more than a footnote in the newspapers and on TV today, at least what I saw. That's very sad. So many gave so much that day and it barely matters to so few now.

Great picture. Heard NOTHING regarding the Normandy landings today. Makes one depressed and sick at the same time.

Wonder if anything came out in the overseas papers? Where's Gunner when you need him?

Honor to your uncle and to all the other boys who fought on D-Day.
