    .22 Trainer

What can you tell me about this .22 Enfield? And how comes the Volley Sights weren't cut off on a trainer?

    Thanks,

    Georg

Looks like it may be a pre 1910 LSA commercial MkIII.
We need to see more photos of serial numbers & markings etc, plus a photo of the righthand side of the receiver showing the charger bridge.

Simon, does your No. 1 trainer also have the volley sights?

5thBatt, here are the pictures. Thanks in advance for your help.

Does the wood match the rest of the gun? It could have been restocked.. or else someone replaced the volley sights.

I've a similar .22 also with the volley sights intact. Until this thread came up, it was the only one I've encountered. Will get some photos for comparision when time permits.

(Something makes me think it's from Oz, but don't know why.???)

Jup, solid barrel. Did recieve the PM, thanks. S/N on Bolt is not matching (with my rifle now), not sure about the stock but I think there's no S/N on it (shows plenty signs of usage).

I have a LSA Long Lee .22 trainer with volley sights and .303 magazine. The serial number has only three digits. I assume the volley sights were for practising fire control orders at the landscape series of targets. Mine is in mint condition.
