A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. I don't think you'll fine one. Mine are stamped the same. I have three and they're all 44. I don't recall any 45's either.

NICE sling RCS! I have a mint 44 dated one exactly like yours on my 1944 1903A3 but I haven't seen a 43 or 45 one either.
(I looked at many web slings before I decided on this one and it came from an original gov package)
Had had to pay a 'stupid' price to get it ($100), but I just wanted a mint web sling with no rust stains and mint metal for my 1903A3 because I felt it suited it.

Schlegel (SM Co) made 1943 dated web slings. I have a photo of one (unless it's a fake). I think they made 1942 dated ones too.

I'm a bit late to the party, but here's my SM co. 1943 sling also:

One thing I have seen lately was the early pattern of web sling in the Danish icon

return stuff. All narrow sliders, and that made me wonder if they had been making them? Any insight here?

When the Danish stuff first started coming to the U.S. in large quantities, I distinctly recall seeing many web slings made by the Danes: they looked amazingly similar to US WWII slings, but most (all?) had the Danish crown marking stamped on them. So, yes, the Danes made web slings.

Rick is right on the money. The Danish icon

slings were plentiful several years ago. I remember buying a bunch of them from Cheaper Than Dirt. They were brand new and all of them had the Danish Crown markings on them.
