    Crates & Boxes

How about some pictures of crates & boxes for .303 & even the crates for rifles?

From the 189? to 195?, I don't know when the last (or first) boxes were made!

If possible try to see if the box is marked with a date, very interested in seeing some WWI & WWII boxes/crates especially.

A spinoff topic from the "accessories" post.

This ammo had it's own little story as detailed in this thread:
Cal. .303" SAA Ball Circa 1981

Some links to transit chest photos:

    L42 Photos

That thread has also links to these theads which I'll repeat here for ease of use (The titles ARE a LITTLE similar!):

    L42 Transit Case Markings

    L42 Transit chest Markings

BTW: If anyone knows of more photos in other threads of L42a1s and other associated goodies, send me a PM and I'll add the links to the L42 Photos thread- Minimze the hunting!

I had a couple of uncles working in the Winchester plant making that lend-lease ammo. It's the only caliber they remembered specifically.

    Nice variety of ammo packages!

    ShtLe, Good stuff!

    I like the early packet!

On the topic of boxes, were bayonets stored/issued from boxes?

' Smallmark' was for many years supplied through the NRA for competitive purposes.

Procured for Cadet forces in the early '80s.

left-hand blank is made from proof cases. Middle one is reformed from .300 H&H Magnum with the belt turned off
