I would add that the safety is marked ERB. That is a first for me as all of the real ones I have seen are marked EPB for Eaton Pond Co.

    Color

I don't like the color of the barreled receiver. They look reparked to me. Just to black looking.

It is not a mint collectible, no doubt.

Reparked probably, stock sanded most probably, type two or three band mark on stock yep, some bogus parts you bet. Loved the ERB safety.

Just because the barrel swallows the gauge doesn't necessarily mean it won't shoot well.

    Worth $1,000 NO DAMN WAY

But it is a GI receiver with many real parts.

Pretty rough mixed parts, reparked, sanded, reworked, import marked barrel carbines, people say are selling in the $500 to $600 range in their areas, and sometimes more. And we see people show and tell those here all the time. We have had people knowingly sell fake parts here in the WTS page.

It shouldn't sell for his asking price. But if it doesn't sell, I doubt if you contacted him that he would lower the price. He is one of the current scam artists.

We like to bash anything that may not be 100%. And this is surely not a $1,000 gun. But it is not totally junk either. For less it would be considered.

Someone could make some changes and fill a maker hole. Remember, IBM only made 346,500 carbines, 5.6%. Only 4 makers made less.

What gets me is the insinuation that it is correct.

Something about this is very fishy, or else, I am confused. Carbine club newsletter on IBM says AO recievers were 3839516 and higher. This one is listed as 3802376. Also, with a serial of 3802376, this should have a barrel dated 12/43 at the earliest, not 9/43 like it does.
Also, IBM did not use any sights (front) marked EU. Used PO B, SI B or N milled sights. 1000 sights integrated from Rock Ola - but I think EU is an Underwood sight. So something not right there maybe. No record of any safety coded ERB either in newsletter. Just EPB , EMB and some w-B. Certainly not worth $1000 IMO.

Another hump job from this seller. He bought
many carbines from the CMPicon - then they show
up on e-bay months later with lots of early
features and other tell-tale sighs of re-working.

That's what I was thinking about the 'hatchet job' belt sanding on the right side of the stock. (Quickly sanding off the FAT)

Looks like he was in a hurry, as if doing several and used the quickest, easiest means.
He never says it's original, just implies it is by the price.
