    Uss west point

I posted this cartouche before but never the other side showing the ships name stamped into the butt. I got this about five years ago, at first I thought maybe someone stamped this ship's name, but I think if you were going to fake a ship's stamp, you would use a well known name !Attachment 24806Attachment 24807

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I agree. I didn't even know there was a USS West Point. Nice find, Bob.

The USS WEST POINT was the ocean liner SS America launched in 1940. This was the largest capacity troop ship in the US Navy during 56 months of active duty. There is quite alot of history concerning the USS West Point.
