    Old bayonet

Attachment 24838Attachment 24839Attachment 24840Attachment 24841Attachment 24842This bayonet has a mark on the sheath that I cant make out but it looks like a tiny snake. It also has a mark and serial number on the handle G 61374 and there is a mark to the left of the G that I cant make out. It looks very old with a wood covered handle with two hand hamered pins holding the two wood pieces together. Check the pics out and any info would be greatly appreciated, I got it from a garage sale, thanks Travis.

    Old bayonets newly discovered stamp

I looked and seen the similarities in the fixed folding one with serial number in the same spot, I think it was for the M1938. So I discovered that there is a mark that looks like the mathmatical symbol of pie to the left of the G 61374 so what do you think that means. I dont think its a fake because it is well made and the springs are still tight, also what year do you'all think maybe 1900 to 1910ish.

M1938 refers to the date of the first model so doubt the blade was made before then
