A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). I had one of those with the solid butt many years ago and it too was gorgeous. Those have to be the best looking of the FN series.

The FN "Match" rifles were the best FALs I ever owned. Swapped my first fixed stock, standard weight barrel rifle (G.S. Alabama imported) for a wood furnitured heavy barrel rifle. Which was a mistake! The heavy shot so well, however, that a shooting buddy swapped me an AUG AND enough cash to have bought another standard match! Squandered the cash on I don't know what other rifles, and later sold off the AUG for infinitely more than I had in it. (Mostly because it didn't have a good bolt closing method after insertion of a new mag.)

SO, still wishing I had an FN! Don't part with it lightly, you will be apt to regret it.

ETA: Dang, that rifle needs to be shot some! T'ain't a museum piece. (I never did rapid fire my FALs, though, afraid of hurting bore life/accuracy. Probably still wouldn't IF I ever get another that shoots as precisely.)

ETA2: never mind, it's just well cared for:

Note the butt wear and loss of paint behind the ejection port.

I know that it is different all over the place. I love San Fran but wouldn't move to Kalifornia in a million years. I will find somewhere that scores a 0 in the Brady list !
