I'm really looking forward to these rifles. It's great to see a Canadianicon manufacturer bringing new and innovative stuff to the market.

That stock was a bad idea on the MP5.....it hasn't gotten better.

This stock has one feature that the MP5 doesn't... cheek weld. That's the advantage the AR has; a receiver extension.

There are many stocks out there that are light (lighter than this), folders, sliders, etc.. this just has the unnecessary bits removed.

Doesn't appear rapid adjustable, and appears to be fairly weak structurally. Even a basic M4 stock would probably do better and the CTR and similar stocks are better than that. Spent 3+ years in and out of vehicles and buildings constantly, that stock just screams "snag me on things". Also probably zero weight, making the gun offbalanced, much like running a standard M4 stock with an M203 on the front end.

Just saying. I've spent nearly half my life around the AR platform, some things get changed for a reason... sticking essentially an HK stock on one just seems to me like an idea whose time shouldn't have come.

That picture is of the prototype and the design had been tested for quite some time. The final production piece will be a modified version of this design incorporating 12-position sliders, and the release mech is the same as the standard M4 carbine release, just smaller. Because the entire stock is made of metal it is actually slightly heavier than a standard carbine stock (final weight TBC, but we are attempting to make comparable).

It is quite strong despite how it appears. It is strong enough to 'spike' your rifle if required. And if you compare it side by side to any other stock, you will notice that it actually has less to create snag points. And as someone that's got 10 years in the Infantry, I'd be more than happy to install this on my own rifle, at home or abroad.

This stock has been in the making for quite time. In fact recently H&K attempted to make their own version that is in trials, which does have some of the structural concerns that you stated here. I have handled the H&K.

Because their design is a modification of the old Colt M231 Firing Port Weapon stock & similar to ours there is no patent, and there is no recourse for us other than making a superior product.

Take Colt's approach on the PDW desire and you have the Colt Sub-Compact Weapon (SCW). You want to talk about a snaggy, slow to deploy stock?

Or there's KAC's kick at the can, the KAC PDW.

This is not a battle rifle. There is demand all over the world for a effective PDW that will provide some solutions to new world situations; Rifle caliber sub-gun deployable from and within vehicles, Light weight & compact platforms that still have have an acceptable receiving-end effect. This is a solution being sought the world over, and the best design wins. Ours is the only solution that provides user defined stock positioning (not pre set), it is also the only one that has figured out how to solve the problem without needing to go to a Piston system.. Ours is drop in on any AR platform. Everyone is trying to solve the problem with a Piston system.. AR Pistons are a fad. We're providing an alternate solution that doesn't require you to reinvent the wheel.

This system in the pictured configuration is chambered in .300 Blackout. 30rnd capacity and requires nothing more than a barrel change. This is one of the most effective full sized cartridges to suppress and has a metric-sh*t ton of stopping power. Combine in a platform that is the size of a MP5 with a box-load of .30cal 220gr OTM bullets that actually requires 1/2 the powder and therefore a substantial reduction in recoil and you all of a sudden appreciate what we are trying to accomplish that the day of the sub gun is over one way or another.

Our main advantage is that our platform has a 0% US content. This is not to snub our US friends, but was solely a consideration to ensure that our platform does not fall under ITAR at all. We can ship our rifle to any country not under a embargo.. this provides us with a very large, very eager firearms market.

    Dave,
If the butt plate had an extended sleeve that fit over the buffer stub you'd have a wider range of possible supported cheek positions and no impact to the stock OAL collapsed.

I'm picking up what you're putting down. An excellent suggestion that we'll have to look into.

Something that'd have the same effect as the riser on the SAGE EBR?

I think it's doable. It's a matter of meeting a price point. We'll look into it though. We're always open to suggestions on any of our projects.
