Restoration of WWI Trench Knife

A friend gave me this knife and said there was not much hope. SO I started working. How I need to start aging the wood.

I suppose, but I would be more tempted to glass bead the metal to clean. It can never be made original again and I understand you're going one way, I would go the other. I'm sure these guys will come forward with aging in a second...lovely work so far.

Nice craftsmanship Mark.

Practice on some other stained wood, but you can sometimes get the look of very old wood by using high head or scorch it with flame.

Put wood in a tumbler with a few rocks, some gravel, and a few rusty nuts and bolts. Beware that you do not end up making what can be construed as a criminal simulation and run afoul of Laws.


Note: you do understand that in most states you have a prohibited weapon. You need to check on what is required to poses it in your state. May be as simple has it being mounted in a sealed display case.
