    Yes, they are Luftwaffe collar tabs for an Obergefreiter (Lance Corporal). He was probably an anti-aircraft gunner.

    Revised: I may have this wrong. I looked it up and I think it may be a Technical Sergeant depending on the color of the background and two sided boarder. That, and no shoulder boards and because he is sitting away from the others??? But, it looks like he has two stripes on his arm???
