I dont think its a bubba at all, looks like a nice solid example of a WW1 English SMLE, albeit with the sight protectors facing the wrong way around. Shame about the BD stamped into the stock with what appears to have been done with leatherwork punches.

Everything looks good and correct to period of manufacture. Basically a pretty solid example. Don't think it's been sanded hard up front if at all but the buttstock would certainly need replacing to bring the rifle up to collector grade. There is very little that can be done with a buttstock sanded that close to hell and gone. Original SMLE buttstocks appear with great frequency on eBay for quite nominal money and the color should be easy to match.
