USMC Enfield??

Came across these pictures recently. Was this a USMC (Marine Corps) Enfield or am I missing something? Did the Marines try or actually use Enfields? Anyone with knowledge of this subject that can explain will satisfy my curiosity. Thanks.

In WWII the Marines did use a few British.55 caliber Boys rifles. I am pretty sure they did not use the No.4. Anyone can make one like the one pictured, all you need is a metal stamp kit, a hammer and a sense of humor or greed.

TO1 mount for civilian scopes.

Perhaps it was drilled & tapped for an unusual scope mounting clamp.

No Kirk, it's for the TO-1 mount. Weaver manufacture. That's the most common mount around here anyway. It uses the narrow clamp rings not the wide type. Just three screws. I'd rather use an S&K or something that doesn't have to be D&T.

Any mount that is screwed to the body by being screwed into a round 4mm thickness of material isn't worth a light and wouldn't last 5 minutes with ANY Marines. OK, ok, some of you might have them, on your Enforcers for example, but you ain't Marines and you ain't fighting with them!
