I'm still looking for an original Springtube Rock-Ola and have been for many years. Problem has been original. I don't want to start with a receiver and build one. Pretty much have given up on finding one.

    Roger,
I've tried that before. I think Marcus is a hoarder. Regardless of the price of corn.

Sometimes desirability trumps rarity when it comes to value of a particular item. Rockolas and Winchesters are good examples of this..

I think you are correct with this statement. Everyone has their favorites. Winchester made around 13.4% and I have 8 of them. NPM, IBM, Std Products are in the 4 to 6.7% range and I only have two of each of those. I have to quit letting my cousin raid my garage.

Second block Rock ?. #461559X is coming up for Auction here soon. The problem is, it is missing the bolt ! Not unusual here as you are not allowed to store firearms with the bolt in them so when folks move house etc things get lost. My question to the forum is, would you go for a round or flat replacement for that S/N ?. Refer bottom of Page 400. Warbaby. How ya doing Roger ? , long time no speak, I agree, the price of corn is a worry !. Mike.

Nice parts. That's a start. Only 20 or so marked parts still to gather to put it together. Now show us one you have in your collection.

If you want to see phoney examples of these, from our favorite seller, to compare.

Rock-Ola ended their contract in May 1944 to try and break even on their costs. The only take over of a maker making carbines was Saginaw taking over the Irwin Pedersen contract and it was not because of problems with the IP carbines but with the management of IP who could not get their act together. The most faked part of a Rock-Ola is the stock and more have been fake then any other maker. The list of production figures is off on a couple of the makers. The S'G' production was 223,620 carbine shipped. IP is thought to have made at least 32,000 receivers but only assembled 3,542 Carbines none accepted by the gocvernment.
I didn't say Rock Ola took over Standard Products, I was under the impression Commercial Controls took over Standard Products.

    Mike,

Transition time? That SN is in the last 15% of the block. Production of the next block is in roughly the same time frame, early part of 1944. Is that flat bolt you show looking for a home. Think you could go either way.

You say that you can not store the firearm with the bolt in. Is it OK to have a mounted stock pouch with the bolt in one of the magazine slots? Maybe a parts pouch snapped onto the sling? Or do they have to be separated further then that?
