We would need a lot more information about this rifle with pictures, hopefully. Serial number, barrel date, military condition vs. sporterized, etc.

Worth could be anywhere from $150-1000, so you see what I'm talking about.

To pick up on what Emri said, if somebody told you they had a [classic] '57 Chevy for sale, and what is it worth, you'd need to know what condition. Is it a rusted pile of parts that's been sitting in the back 40 for 30 years, or has it been carefully maintained and drove by an old lady to church it's entire time?

    03A3 value?

1944 Remington, SERIAL NUMBER 3440727 not a piece of crap. taken for a walk twice or three times a month, likes 28grns of Varget and prefers Hoch cast bullets. Wood in excellant condition with all proof marks in tact, all metal is perfect with parkerizing as new.Bore is shinny as a new penny. Dont know how to take pics or have the camera to do so because it would make a nice pic. THANK YOU JER

Jerry - Take a good look at this rifle. Remington 1903A3 (displaying original configuration and finish)

For an accurate value, we need to know how your rifle compares to this one. Same mix of blue and parked parts? Please list any stamps you see, wood and metal.

A Rem A3 with a 3.44 serial would not have a '44 dated barrel, originally.

The serial number dates from 1943 and, if the barrel has a 1944 date, it was replaced at some time or the other. It may have seen little use since overhaul. The worth might be in the $600-800 range.

Thank you Mike and thank you Dick and Harlan, my 03 is nice but not as nice as Harlans. Behind trigger guard in stock is an A with a circle around it and a P and under the forearm the number 5 with two P in a circle. Behind front sight it reads RA and probably stands for Remington Arms and a flame coming out the barrel and the date is 7-44. I have oiler that came with it along with the jag. YOU FOLKS ARE GREAT JER

So any configuration other than the way Harlan's looks means it has been through a rework at some arsenal?

    Question...

What is one that is the same condition as Harlan's 03A3 worth?
