    ZF-41 scope?

I looked this one up in my Mauser book. Don't know much about it.

Yours looks to be a nice example. Can't tell you much about them though. I got one a while back but it's missing a few small bits, and was purchased out of curiosity more than anything. I intend on getting it servicable enough one day to do a range test whilst mounted on modern production mount that sits in place of the sight ramp. (The original rifles had a special rear sight base with the mount integral on the side, requiring a small relief cut in the fore end- I think!)

More or less the first ACOG (an optic for general issue rather than snipers), but with long eye relief.

New production mount for the scope that requires no permanent alteration to the rifle is on the left.

Whilst on the subject, would you mind terribly taking a close up photo of the elevation "clicker" located just behind the serrated elevation adjustment ring?

Mine's missing, so will have to fabricate a new one. An estimated thickness of the clicker sheet metal would be welcomed, too! I'm guessing it's probably about 0.020" thick, but that's a WAG.

Here's yours- but more detail and a straight on shot would be most helpful!:

    As soon as I can

I'll see if I can get some shots Tuesday as this storm will see me not working ( I can use a day off ) I don't have it at my house.

I did google it and briefly looked at some for sale. they were all "REPRODUCTIONS" which has me ask... how do I know if this is real?

Photo guides like the one Badger linked above are your best initial source of telling good gear from fakes. The reproductions as made won't fool serious collectors, but the fakers have become quite adept at enhancing things. So you have to lok for clues in the shapes, machine marks, markings, etc.

I almost bought a "repop" scope just for comparison, but I'm not working a blue million hours of OT this year, so...

That scope/can rig looks good to me.

Never seen one of those post war mounts. Where did you find it? I have a beater scope that I could put on a shooter.

Any hope for photos of the clicker plate? It looks like I'll have opportunity to try this scope out on a "Kriegsmodell" K98kicon built for this scope pretty soon! I missed it by " that much! Fortunately, it's because I brought a friend with me during my purchase of a "double date" GEW 98. So he got it. I didn't even think to look to see if it was a ZF41 type rifle, and it was too far away too see details without asking the owner to take it of the shelf in the back.
