What brand stock is that? Is it carbon fibre? I can see the irons being pretty hard to use on that rifle. ITAR makes cross-border shipping such a mess. I could order that sight from Brownells, but you can't ship me one.

I managed to fit an ARMS 18 I had kicking around on to this shorty, this afternoon. It wouldn't fit on my other M14icon as the receiver was badly out of spec. Fits pretty good on this one.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. McCann Industries carbon fiber stock mated to a temporary fixed M16icon stock for accuracy testing whilst i make seemingly never ending changes. Light weight with accuracy is the goal.

It's actually going pretty well, but I just haven't been able to either fork over dinero for a new standard weight 18.5" barrel OR cut the existing barrel back. I'm liking the stock overall, but I wish the comb height was either higher or lower. Higher would actually be my preference. This project has diverted attention from a lot of other stuff, though! Possibly to some folks annoyance....

Oh, the flashhider got modded before hitting the range this afternoon, so those recent photos are obsoleted since they got posted!

Newer photos as of 4 November 2011:

Couldn't let those useless little rings remain! Every little bit helps.

100yd zeroing target using FNM surplus. First round was just about off the top of the paper. Cranked the sight down, and than a little more. Amazingly, the windage was about spot on.

I would suspect that sight configuration on your rifle. I've not seen one mounted the way yours is. Hum......

Smith Enterprise makes a taller gas cylinder lock front sight base as well. Going to order one, lighten it, and try it. (Likely in that order! No sense leaving it un-butchered...)
