    About "that" HT Longbranch...

A mate of mine scored the majority of his grandfathers firearms and equipment when the old Gent passed several years ago. It wasn't until looking at some of my pictures he realised what he had...
His grandfather was a competitive rifle club shooter for many many years. His gear included a couple of complete rifles, a good few spare parts and some assorted armourer's tools. The Longbranch has been converted to 7.62 and is a very nice rifle... right up to where he soldered a set of Lithgowicon HT scope bases onto it. It previously had (as evidenced by the solder on the butt socket, not shown) a Central No4 side plate attached as well.

The Longbranch wasn't his only foray into sticking HT scopes on things. Here's also a pic of a BSA No1, with H barrel and a tidy sporter stock set, with another set of mount bases on it.
Here's pics of both, a bit more to come on this shortly...

Go easy with the gas axe Son, and these casualties should come out of the trauma with minimum scars.
