    What did I miss?

I have been off the forums since last winter. Any major break-throughs in carbine collecting? I am glad to see Philly and Painter are still at it!

What is the latest in re-pop parts? Any sneaky new fakes or restified faker guns on the auctions?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Good to see you back! Not a lot new - prices for mixmasters seemed to jump a bit after the CMPicon ran out of carbines. Original collector carbines still holding their value as usual.

Same old crap for the humpers, Curt. Riverbank, Modesto, ABCleech, George Laikos, etc still leading the scumbag pack selling fake crap hand over fist as well as his followers.

Thanks, well I got promoted into a new job, bought a house, and fired 24 rifle matches over the summer including Perry
and the Creedmoor games in NC. Nothing new in my Carbine collection but I did add a nice Remington Rand. Looking forward to being on the forum and continuing my carbine education this winter. I missed you guys.
I was really hoping one of you guys came up with a hand held dating device to date instantly identify repop parts at gun shows

It's really good to have you back, Curt. Since you didn't add any new carbines, I'd sure like to see your Remington Rand if you have time to post some photos! I only have one 1911A1 and it's a RR too. It seems every collection needs at least one Gov issue 1911.

Yes! I did perfect some working 'humptometers' and have applied for a patent. Problem is there's little public confidence in it's outstanding capabilities because it's alarm goes off on about every gun show and pawn shop carbine tested here in the big city.

Seriously, it's a mess around here anymore. I used to love prowling pawn shops, etc for carbines but now there's so many shiny new T-1 parts on every messed up CMPicon carbine we come across that I look for early carbines with T-3 bands and sights. It also seems like the pawn shops now think every mixmaster with a fake T-1 sight and band is a $1200 prize too.

That's what I get for sleeping behind the wheel. Congrats on your daughter Charlie. I'll get some pics of the RR here in the next couple weeks and update my photobucket page and let you have a peek Harlan!
