Info needed on a Mauser broomhandle

    Hello,

I have an opportunity to buy the broomhandle pictued here for $750, can anyone tell me about it? I have never looked into these in detail, but I believe I have read that there can be commercial models as well as military, and that there were some made in different countries. The seller thinks that this one pictured is Chinese, which I have read can also have copied Mauser markings...very confusing, to me at least with limited knowledge. Sight is graduated to 1000, all serial numbers I see match (663919). A little pitting, don't know the bore condition. Any info is greatly appreciated, especially regarding average market values for a gun in similar condition.

    Thanks,
    Jim

I paid about $400 for a Bolo in roughly similar condition, with a "matching" stock, and a totally shot out barrel. After an $80 barrel re-line it is a good $500 shooter rig.
Even if it has an excellent original bore, I think that Bolo is priced about $200-250 too high.

It's not a Chinese copy. It's Germanicon made and as stated it's a Bolo version. I agree the price is too high for it in that condition which is not very good. It does look like it could be one of the ones imported from China years ago.

A lot of really rough Broomhandles came back from China several years back, and that may be one of them. Agree that price is too high for that condition.
