    REM 870 mk2 bayonet adapter

    Gents,

I posted this same thing over on the CMPicon forum and I need some opionions. A friend of mine had been telling me he had some riot shotgun parts but I had not been able to make it over to take a look at them, until tonight. I knew they looked like they would fit a reminton 870 but were not real familiar with them until I found some info on the net. It appears they are remington 870 mk2 bayonet adapters. All three are NOS, two are sealed in the package and the one was opened by my friend to determine what he had.

Apparantly they are quite rare, especially in this condition. So, the question is how much are they worth? I noticed a used one recently sold on ebay for $305.00. These are not for sale at this time, I just need a true assessment on the value of these.

    Thanks,
    Jim

I think they are the real deal, but NOBODY has a real military 870 (OK, there might be a few of them out there, but they are few and far between). So it only has value to someone who needs to complete a shotgun, or a humper who won't pay big money.

My friend has had these for quite awhile. He said he bought them amongst many parts many years ago and they have sat in his garage for 10-15 years.

Those are adaptors for the Remington 870. The Remington USMC Mark I shotgun adaptors have a dovetailed front sight, not a bead. The adaptors with the bead sight were sold to law enforcement, but the Military also bought them. I don't know if they will fit the Mark I because it has a slightly longer barrel than the Model 870.

Tom, thanks for the response. Military shotguns and accessories are definitely not my cup of tea, so any information on these would greatly be appreciated.

    Sir,

I am one of the lucky few that has a US Property Marked 870. I have been searching high and low for this adapter, and am very interested in acquiring one. Please let me know if you would consider selling me one. I own a small firearms shop just outside Fort Bragg, so if you would rather trade let me know what yuou are looking for, I may be able to find it. Thanks,

    Chris
