My Work in Progress Retro M16

I purchased this as a complete rifle a few weeks ago. After tearing it apart it was apparent that the seller or former owner used some iffy parts so, I'm replacing most of the springs, detents, and swapping in a few more period correct parts. The upper is a mid-60's slickside 604, the barrel is a chrome lined 1980's production piece with an original 3-prong flash hider. The stock is a type D with solid rubber buttpad. The bolt carrier is a real chrome Colt 602 piece with no cuts for the forward assist. The bolt is also chrome and is new production from Young's Mfg. The lower receiver is a repro 601/602 slab side with ball detent pivot pin from NDS. The lower is currently soaking in CLP to darken up the color to match better with the original finish of the upper. The internals appear to be new production semi-AR15 pieces. All I'm waiting on is an unissued mag release button and a new charging handle from NDS. The last picture shows the rifle as it arrived to me.

I can't wait to finally get it back together and get some trigger time!
