Type I - need replacement stock

I recently inherited a Type I. I need more info about this rifle. No markings visible other than serial number (F3485). Rifle has 85%+ original bluing. Stock was butchered by a teenager back in the 1950's who chickened out on the full bubba job and attempted to put it back to original. Stock was cut then pinned and glued back. Missing wood on top of barrel too. Otherwise, the rifle seems complete. From what I was told, it shoots well.

Also, would like to acquire the proper sling and bayonet.

Is there anyone who can provide me more info about the Type I?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hobo

    Hey!
    Welcome to the board...
Please post some pics of your Type 1.
While I don't any parts to sell, I am interested in your outcome. Gunbroker and Ebay will have stuff..... you will just have to be patient. Hopefully someone here have some spares squirreled away on this board!

Hey guys, I have a type 38 that Bubba got his hands on, cut down stock... Average stock price on eBay is $250, more than a complete rifle. Any other sources?

I would be interested in a bubbed stock if you find a replacement.
I have a wreck that I am resurrecting into a shooter and any sort of handle would be nice.
You can email me with this handle at yahoo.

    Regards
