    SMLE No1 Mk V (.30M1 carbine)

The rear sight I borrowed off my SMLE Sht .22 IV, rifle preformed OK and a few tweeks on the sight brought the rounds on target, test ammo was Privi but will knock up some home loads and give it another run also need a bit more work on the bedding etc, but more than pleased with the initial results.

After another test with a few tweeks it produced this,

Makes a good conversation piece when you take it to the club, and the uninformed all start wondering what happened to the backsight on your "SMLE MkIII"!

    Very good work!

Biggest bummer is what bubba did to the receiver, oh man what I'd have given for you to be able to make her back in .303. You still did a wonderful job bringing her back to life.

    Thanks USMC6094,

It just made sense to reduce the calibre, after bubba had been at work, I,ve no doubt it would be fine back in .303 but on the safety aspect and its a had a hard enough life already, so thought the .30 M1icon was a good choice, bigger bang and punch than a .22, and cheaper to run than a .303, i,ve updated the original post with a more recent target, shoots like a dream now.
