    restocking a sport M1917

I’m in the process of restocking a m1917 sporter. I plan on adding the stock reinforcing bolt and the brass pin. Because I’ve noticed that a common problem reported is cracks in sportierized stocks. My question is this was this reinforcement added to the 1917 because of the increased recoil of the 30-06 or was it also on the p14?

I glassed the forward recoail tang. I also made bushing from stainless steel tubing and glassed them in also. I floated the barrel. I still think I will install the reinforcing bolt anyway. Just to be on the save side. Thanks for the input
