A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Hi John,

I hope you are still monitoring this old post.

I recently inherited an 1896 Kragicon from my father which brought back a a bunch of memories as it was the rifle I shot my first buck with, years ago.

I was hoping I could appeal to you to do an SRS check on this serial number, too.

    1896 Springfield Krag serial # 79,559

    Thanks!
    -Joe

Hi Joe, I have not looked back in a week. 79577 & 79609 both carbines Co F 5th USV INF and 79533 a rifle Co I 1st ND VOL INF. Those are the closest, but no hit on your number. John

GREAT to know - Thanks for doing that for me, much appreciated.

The guns history will live on as another young person's first deer rifle next year...

    Best,
    -Joe
