The Soviet Soldier of World War Two by Philippe Rio

I spotted this book on the internet last week and found a copy of it t a gun show of all places.

This has to be the best book by far of it's type that I have ever seen and I have a lot of books on uniforms, etc. It is a mix of period black and white photos and what appears to be museum quality color photos of actual equipment, much of it being worn.

It is very heavy on insignia, medals, equipment and uniforms. A bit light on the weapons but representative examples of most types are provided.

I find it odd that of all the nations, it is the Sovieticon Union that has a book of this quality to show it's uniforms, etc. Could be I just never saw the others but like I said, I have a lot of uniform books and none approach this one for quality of photos.
