jeez--this reminds me of school days, I hated details, still do, times don't change. In a nutshell you have to do what you feel is right. If someone asks for some info I will pass it on a couple times, if I feel they are just trying to gain info without ever paying I quit answering, if it gets repeated I tell them they better join and try and participate. We only learn when we communicate what we have found and when its replicated by others. Established patterns become knowledge, as Bolo says even patterns of fakes become real, its up to us to prevent or fakery becomes real. When I posted the IP trophy I had totally missed the slide milling cut issue. I was just amazed at the broad use of faked parts in it, was most I have seen.

The mark below the serial number is a marking applied by a foreign government, most likely in Europe. The only US marking applied below the SN on IP's was the flaming bomb similar to Underwood's receivers, but this is very rare on IP's
Here is mine, it is a early century arm's import from Europe. It was blued when I bought it like yours but in my ignorance early in collecting I had it reparked.

usgicollector: The flaming bomb was what I saw missing on the allegedly repro reciever. If that's rare on real underwoods, then I assume it's not the detail leading others to believe it's fake then.

I dunno ! What a drama ! USGIColllector is right, they should look like this. It will take a lot of evidence to convince me otherwise. I've got a clue on the mark wrongly described as a flaming bomb and will follow it up. Mike.

So what was the correct answer? The serial number is not in line or is the wrong font?

That IP just sold on GB for over $2500. You can find it by searching the completed auctions.
