Winchester m1200 trench gun used in iraq 2003

I just thought I would share the story of the Winchester M1200 I used in Iraq in 2003-2004.

I was issued a M1200 in 2003 and remember having to take 4 M1200 shotguns, and re-assmble them into one usable gun!! I immediately took off the heatguard/bayonet lug and ditched it with the m1917 bayoned and stored it in my gear. I had a ATI folding stock with pistol grip shipped out and an extended magazine tube. The result is what you see in the picture. Notice the ghetto mag light taped on the mag tube...No surefire front actions available for the 1200 only 870! I was on a 4 man entry team and was always the 1st guy in with the shotgun (lucky me).

I 'm on the far right with the AK-47 and my friend on the left is holding my M1200 for the picture. Notice the mix of shotgun shells we carried from less leathal 00 buck to 00 buck and slug. The shotgun served me well and had no problems with it in Iraq. Picture was taken in 2003 while attached to the 3rd 3/15 Infantry division as part of task force enforcer in Fallujah, Iraq. Picture is in Dreamland. This was prior to Fallujah being turned into a parking lot when it was filled with terrorist scumbags and the last of hardcore baathists, syrians and terrorists.

The sad thing was when we were leaving Iraq they said they were turning all the M1200 in for mossberg 500's as the Army no longer supported the M1200!!

AAAAARARRGH!! I would have at least kept my heatshield and bayonet!!!!

I'm currently in the process of building a M1200 and need the USGI Buttstock with cut out for sling swivel and the elusive heat shield. So if anyone can help it would be appreciated. I have tried the usual suspects, Numirich, sarco, ebay, gunbroker, ect...

Hope you guys enjoyed the picture. I thought you would appreciate the "GI MODIFICATAIONS" made to my 1200 for that personal touch many Iraqi's loved. Any questions please dont hesitate to ask.

The heatshields turn up all the time. I think there is one online someplace, maybe gunbroker, and I saw a barrel advertised the other day. Look on gunbroker, auction arms, arms america.
    And thanks for your service.

The handguards turn up on there all the time. No one knows what they are. Look for the inside lip.

Well, Even though the guy listed it wrong on EBAY (No mention of Winchester 1200, trench or riot gun) I still paid $750 for the Bayonet and Heatshield. Supply vs demand! Grrrrrrrrrrrr......
I dont think I did too bad? Tell me I didnt do too bad guys......

I looked everywhere for the heat shield but just happened to find it under a search for the M1917 Bayonet!

I just need the correct M1200 Butstock and I'm done!

Examine the bayonet very carefully. Most of the Canadianicon Arsenal bayonets were demilled, and most of the ones out there are re-welds.
An uncut CA is probably worth more than that heatshield.
