Now its getting interesting, What type of recipes can I use for 303 British. What type of bullet you suggest 174 FMG BT or 168 or 150. I don't have the reloading book with me right now.

A simple question, just wish the answer was as simple.....

There are so many variables at work, the major one of which is the type and condition of your rifle's barrel. IN GENERAL, two-groove barrels do not seem to like boat-tailed bullets.
Worn barrels of any type do not like boat tailed bullets. For good barrels, plenty swear by the 174g Sierra Match King bullets, with this or that powder. eg Varget, Reloader 15

Suggest that for some background information, take a browse through this forum, and also in the reloading for milsurps forum, search for reloading threads.

You will see that the consensus is pretty much that each rifle seems to be a law unto itself. Often the most ACCURATE load for your rifle is one at less than maximum velocity.

Are you using American 6 O'clock hold on the Bull?

When shooting various Enfields at 200 yds. using a 6 O'Clock hold, DCM targets (12" bull) my starting point was to set the slide to 400 yds. I couldn't figure the problem until I realized I was shooting American hold with a British rifle! I found an illustration of a British target which was actually the top half of a bull. They sighted in to point of impact.

Well there's 4 inches of the issue at 100 yards. Lower sight blade and you should be fine.

You also have a tall sight blade - What is stamped on it. Go with Newcastle. E-bay have them.

There is a full report on all of the sight blade variations if someone wants to resurrect it for Armenj. But, using a few words Arms, sight blade deflection is perfectly acceptable so long as the edge of the sight blade overhangs OR is level with the edge of the foresight block band - which yours is.... just!

Armourers are taught to accuracy test and zero rifles without a sling with the left wrist resting on a sandbag. That way, the rifle is free of all outside interference. Obviously at the big Field and all Base workshops, we had the special buffered Enfield Rest

I know some disagree with me here on the use of ammo but to test it first.initially for accuracy and zero (not necessarily the same thing) you must use the standard military Mk7 ball ammo. If it means that you've got to put yourself out to find some, then so be it.

Repeat after me 20 times.......... I know my car will run on chip fat, but to test it, I must use the correct diesel fuel
