8mm x57 Reloading Info w/ 185gr PSPCL Bullets

Thats a new one on me, never knew Remington made 150gr 8mm bullets.

Yep and I have over have a green plastic bag left if you want them. LOL The only Rem componet bullets I have ever bought. Maybe they are some oddball bag cause I got them at Cabelas and they almost never have the Rem bags of bullets that I see but the price was good compared to the other major brands. Live and learn.

The Turk 8mm is a 154 gr. flat based bullet and it's loaded in general on the hot side with some years hotter then others. Seems that some rifles love it and other don't do well with it at all. My pristine 1944 DOU hated the stuff but a friends Yugo shoot clover leafs with it.

I tried the 150s and the 170s both in my czech 98/22 and my 98k bcd with various powders, and those bullet weights didn't shoot as well as the heavier 185s PSPCL and 200gr HPBT. Even with surplus ammo the 154gr turk was minute-of-pie plate compared to some 198gr ammo - either FN, Egyptian, or Israeli - I dont remember which, but those heavier bullets were very pointed and had a long radiused ogive like a VLD and a long tapered boat tail. Wish I had some to reload.
