LE, where did you ship from? You can only ship firearms from a Customer Service Counter (hub), or have it picked up. The UPS Tariff says you can't ship from a packing store, although some will accept a firearm, knowing that they can jack up the price (as usual), & not have to pay if it is lost or damaged.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... I shipped from the big distribution center where they ship all the trucks out of, it's in my neighborhood.

There are two different prices in shipping costs too. It matters if it goes to a business or a residential address too. Trust me it can get very expensive shipping to residential C&R guys. In my area firearms can only go out thru the distribution center here (main hub /barn) UPS. The UPS stores locally won't ship nor can accept firearms. UPS is getting worse and worse now. At thye center they demand the ffl's from me and where its going too. I'm kind of happy they check to where its going. I only trade with license C&R FFL03 collectors and ffl01 dealers. Just make sure your doing it legit and keep our country safe.

I asked my local usps about shipping firearms. They told me they only ship firearms back to the manufacturers for repairs. I personally don't think they like shipping firearms at my local usps.

I shipped a Rolex watch using Fred-Ex-pensive, it cost me over $100.00 and that was express, not next day! Their collectable insurance was a max coverage of $1000.00 which I more than used. I ended up purchasing an additional insurance from my homeowners. USPS will basically insure for whatever you list but good luck ever collecting on a claim. There is so much red tape on all carriers that you almost want to just say screw it!

I have not found a USPS office that will ship a handgun. Our little UPS retail store will not ship any firearms period! I have to go to the shipping hub in Mojave but their hours suck! They are only open from 1530 to 1800 for drop off shipping.
