A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... The only 30 round mags I saw were with the CAR 15 guys. No forward assist, scope, heavy barrel, round forearm, we had 3 prong flash suppressor good to open c-rats with and the bipod wasnt issued to anyone in my outfit. Is that a ruck under the rifle or a flack jacket? I never saw a clean hat or flag either. No need to apologise, not that big of a deal.

This was my version of the SP1 AR15A1. My memory is fading but during my second tour we had the bi pod in a canvas case and along side was a 3 piece cleaning rod.

If the Eagle on the butt stock was your outfit? I supported the 3/506 101AB.

In the early stages there was only the 1st Brigade. 502, 327, Aviation and support battalions. I don't recall 506 and possibly later deployed.

3/506th was at Phan Thiet in 1968 I was in the 192nd AHC 1st Aviation Brigade at Phan Thiet 68-69. We also supported the Whitehorse ROK's, 75th Rangers and a ARVN unit plus the SF back in the Highlands. Ya get around a little when your flying. 3/506th 101AB was my Dads outfit durring WWII, sort of runs in the family. You must have been in country before 68. Anyway your picture of the AR is correct for my time there, my rifle was a 16 and at least 6 different shades of put together parts and in pretty bad shape but it shot ok.
