A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Found this at a flea market last weekend. Originally posted it on the bayonet forum to determine it's authenticity as it is unusual. It has been authenticated by three individuals to being the real deal. It is a Singer cruciform No4 MkI reworked and remarked in the 1950's with new Enfield inspectors mark and Roman numerals changed to Arabic numerals. Less common than the originally marked Singer bayonets, not many (including me until now) know about them.

Below is the same bayonet in it's sheath and frog above the first bayonet I had purchased at the same flea market from another individual. I used this bayonet, a No4 MKII to determine that the cruciform spike on the first was not a fake. The rifle is my February purchase No4 MKI.

    And unsheathed:

I purchased this at the same flea market from another individual. It is a 1917 production Swissicon K11. Serial numbers match on the barrel, receiver, stock, handguard, bayonet lug and trigger assembly. Rear sight does not match, nor does the magazine. It is stamped "P" indicating it was privatized. It has no import mark.

Found this at my local gunshop on a bargain table for $20. Carcano 1891 with scabbard. Scabbard has some issues but all repairs took place under the metal and are hidden. The leather is weak and torn.

And last but not least the finishing touch to my No5 Jungle carbine. A well worn Elkington No5 bayonet with sheath.

    It was a good month.

Nothing much on the Milsurp front for me, except a tatty No.4 Mk.I that's as apt to be a parts donor as anything else. Forklift, truck and trailer rentals, plus two new big roll around toolboxes ate most of the "fun" money.
