Bubba Strikes Again/ Frank Strikes Back

This S'G' oval cut highwood stock came in a couple of weeks ago. My customer told me to see what I could do for it. It had two cracks on the right rail, one about 4" and the other about 1 1/2" It was varnished, sanded and the left rail was chisled out for a scope mount. Luckly the cartouches are still there. My before pics are in another camara with dead batteries. I'll get them up later. Step one was cleaning, step two was fixing the cracks. Step three was useing a doner stock to make a patch for the scope cutout. It was sanded sway backed for the scope mount on the left rail an 1/8". Step four was streightening up the chisled out portion to except the patch. Alot of hand work making the patch fit. Then glue and clamp. It's being reoiled now and is loooking good.
First pic should be the last pic.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.....Frank

Thank you Bill. It's looking even better with the oil. First coat soaked like a sponge.
You sure that Ashley wouldn't like something like a '67 Camaro covertible?

    Besr Regards.....Frank

This was my son Jake's ride when he was in High School. '74 Z28 350C.I./350H.P. 4 Speed close ratio trans. It was owned by a friend of mine. He put it on blocks when he got married and it sat for along time. When Jake got his drivers lisence we went to him and made a deal to buy it and restore it. We made it a summer project. Stripped the paint, welded in new steel, primed and painted. We redid the interior, had the engine rebuilt. Jake liked the striped look of the '73 Camaro's. I drive it in the summer, never turn on the radio. Just listen to the pipes. It's parked in a heated garage in the winter. Took these pics just a little while ago, it needs to be washed and polished before I take it out.....Frank
