Thanks for all the info guy's i ended up saying no...the seller droped the price down to $1850.00 still not worth it, I said sorry due to the above reasons.

Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. It's good that you are taking your time, not impulsive and being patient ...

Keep looking and spend a lot of time researching. Build up a network of personal relationships amongst collectors, making sure they're aware of what you're looking for, as they often become the best source of pointing you too auctions and sales.
