Is it safe to handle this "missile"

Hello, pardon my terminology or lack of it...

But basically I found this in the middle of the desert and it would look really cool in my living room but I want to make sure its safe.

From what I could tell when I took the picture its a projectile from a tank or something and its solid metal, no explosives or anything. At the bottom there is a spiral/screw which I guess is matching the rifling of the barrel?

If it is safe. If I some how "converted" it to a lamp... could I ship it from the middle east to the US or would it be a mess when it gets to the US via sea freight with my household goods?

    Thx
