    Removing oil-based stain from stock

What is the best way to remove an oil-based stain off the stock? The Minwax stain I put on got blotchy and I have been using several applications of Citristrip which has worked out pretty good but there are still some stains in various places.

    G'Day coolguy90

Don't freak out but this is what I do.

Use a good paint stripper, not the environmentally friendly stuff, the good gear with the chemicals, USE CHEM GLOVES.

    Remove anything not wood.
I hit it with a bit of scotchbrite or heavy steel wool, not enough to sand, just enough to get the stripper started.
I near drown it with stripper and then wrap with aluminium foil, leave about 30 min.
Remove it from the foil and give it a good scrub using scotchbrite or steel wool, old toothbrush in hard to get places etc
Before it starts drying I give it a fresh drowning in stripper and wrap it in fresh aluminium foil for another 30 min.
Pull it out of the foil, wash all the stripper off under the tap and then stick it in the dish washer for the longest cycle without soap.
IT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO DO THIS WHEN THE GIRL IS NOT HOME
Let the stock dry thoroughly, I probably dry for longer than required.
I like to dry the stock slowly with moderate heat.

Bingo, now your stock is clean as a whistle.

    Cheers

I am in Australiaicon, not quite sure whats available in your neck of the woods.
If you have someone local who deals with auto paint, good place to start.
    Cheers
