    Enforcer Rear Diopter Sight?????

    Folks,

Can anyone in web world please give me an estimate as to the current value and availability of the rear Diopter sight for the Enforcer? I have an opportunity to purchase an Enforcer which is missing said sight and I'm just wondering if its a worthwhile deal.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

PH5E/4 is the one you need.
Make sure its the /4 version as the PH5E is for a mauser action.

Not that many 5E/4 about and (on Ebay) - depending on condition, how many people want it & what eyepiece it has - £150 to £250

If the Enforcer you are looking at does not have one fitted it maybe never had one - in which case make sure it has the correct safety-catch as if you need one of these as well you will only find them on the top shelf at the hens teeth & rocking horse poo shop !!!

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Fultons have always got one or two sights in a drawer!

    Gents,

Thanks for the feedback. The rifle still has the Diopter base installed on the rifle and the owner tells me he has the other half of the sight somewhere but he can't remember where.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

Well it's not the end of the world as very rarely does the target sight get used - clearly it's the slider part which inevitably gets taken off and put 'somewhere safe' as you can't put it on with the scope there.
You're unlikely to find a 5e4 slider on its own on ebay, although maybe Fultons might be able to help? Otherwise you might have to buy a full sight (there's one on the 'bay at present). Recently they've not been too expensive.
If the rest of the rifle checks out (see threads passim...) and the price is right I wouldn't let it put you off. You can always keep perstering the bloke after you buy it until he finally cracks and has a proper look...

What's the score with these rare as rocking horse change levers? Surely the actual change lever part is simply a modified No4 part isn't it? And the extension just exactly that, knurled on the bar and cut off to length. Then joined somehow.

Or are they made of gold? Looks like they're phosphated and painted to me and ultra cheap to produce

To go back to the original question of value - one just sold for £83 on ebay - so now's a good time to buy!

  11. Thank You to PrinzEugen For This Useful Post:

But back to the change levers.............. what's so rare or valuable about them. Are they made of unobtanium? If I made a load, are they in demand and would they sell?

They are rare or valuable because many "genuine" Enforcers (honest, Guv...) lack this distinctive factory-made part. Every other part on an Enforcer is a standard Enfield or PH item, and thus relatively easy to acquire.....
