    AK info needed

I'm confused....there are now AK-47's made in the USAicon. At the gun show i saw a Polish AK -47 but it had no markings on the side where I'm used to seeing them. I asked why and the guy told me because it's made in America? Underneath it said century arms. I remember mine was made in Romania. I wanted to buy one but now I got no Idea what is going on. Seems the water looks real muddy from where I'm standing. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for in an AK-47? I'm not collecting just want one for a rainy day if you know what I mean.

    Saiga!

Russianicon made, mostly. Arsenal converts them to military "format". Pricey but good. Most of Arsenal's stuff is good gear.

    Arsenal Inc,

Otherwise, I like the old Pre-'89 Chinese AKs, but they generally cost as much, unless you are having a good day. The old Hungarians are good too, but very hard to find, as they weren't imported long.

[SEGA!-Great catch line, but apparently their software wasn't as good as the name...]

They are making these AK-47's out of parts kits brought into the country. A new receiver and barrel made here, assembled and then sold to wholesalers and finally to dealers. They cannot import the barrels and receivers anymore with the kits so that is why the receiver had no markings on it.

Gun show visited a 2nd day. Went a little crazy. Picked up a Yugoicon AK all black with under folding stock. The Polish with wood and folding that I wanted was sold sat. Also got a Romanian RPK?? or AES 10B the AK-47 with long barrel, bi pod and 75 rnd drum. I know but It was really cool looking. Told you I went a little crazy! Hope to get a chance to shoot them soon but for now they are safe and sound. These are shooters not collectables as I see it. As was stated here before they are parts so they could be imported, and I'm ok with that.

The long AK or Rpk is romanian with a date of 1976. The year I was a senior in high screwel. I thought that was kinda cool.
