What’s your Lee Enfield Holy Grail?

To go shoot Bisley with a 7.62 regulated No 4 and do relatively well with it.

Almost managed it before my kids were born, now will have to wait until they are at least in their teens.

I have really enjoyed reading some of the comments and learned a lot about Enfields. Ive had a 1949 POF No4 Mk2 for years and I really enjoy shooting it.

Recently I acquired a No 4 MK1 T 1945 rifle and I am fascinated by it.
I suppose a good BSA No5 MK1 would be the holy grail for me, or a Lee Speed, or an RIC Carbine or better still any Irish Contract pre 1950

I waited over 5 years to get this but finally have a Long Branch TP ( Trade Pattern Sniper ) with its correct Lyman scope/mount.
Not beat up but looks like it saw lots of service. It's on at least it's 2nd, possibly 3rd barrel.

I’d love to find my Great Grandfathers ShtLE but there would be no way to find out it’s serial number. Other than that a WA marked ShtLE mk1.

If we're talking completely unreasonably here, I'd love to pick up either a Turner SMLE or a M1915 Howell automatic rifle conversion (or both). Somewhat more within the realm of reason, a Lithgow No. 1 Mk III HT or a Long Branch No. 4 Mk I (T).

I've just bought one of mine this week; a pristine No4 mk2 with a UF suffix. It even had the untouched pull through and oil bottle in the butt. The other I will probably never see: a pristine ShtLE Mk1 or 1* made by BSA for commercial sale. I'm fascinated by commercial SMLEs - I'm sure most were harmless target rifles, but what unusual purposes were the others bought for?

I just got a 1917 5 md reciever here in the us with its buttstock I have several un serialized Lithgow barrels that I might reviv this one with I have only a 4,6,7 MD to get I have lithgows from 1913,14,15,16,17 no18 yet

Most Canadian marked SMLE's seem to be 1917 and 1918 dated.

Canada issued the Ross MkIII (and photographic evidence suggests MkIIs made it to England as well) to the troops heading to Europe in WW1.
