Japanese Type 1 rifle MISSING FIRING PIN

i bought a Japaneseicon type 1 rifle a few months back and only recently was able to take it to the range. Upon arriving i loaded the rifle with 5 rounds in the magazine(Reloads). I worked the bolt and put a round in the chamber. I pulled the trigger. CLICK. I waited 30 seconds and investigated the round. No primer strike. I tried a different round and the same thing happened.
Then I took apart the bolt and there was no firing pin. So i am posting this thread to ask if anyone knows were i can get an original or a reproduction firing pin.

this kinda troubles me? Did you inspect this rifle before you tried to fire it? It was recently brought up about how far to inspect a vintage rifle before you fire it. This is a good case study, what if it had major issues?

Sounds good! We look forward to the range report!
I have encountered Japaneseicon rifles with the missing FP before. According to 2 of the Vets that I spoke with about this action, they didn't feel comfortable with them in the house, and in a shooting condition... despite the lack of ammo.... So while it never hurts to be safe.... I assume that a few more of these missing FP rifles are out there... in shooting condition... but to repeat myself... it doesn't hurt to doublecheck that there isn't other outstanding issues.
The last Vet that I spoke with who did this, actually kept his bringback in a shed out back... and sold it for $5.00 during a garage sale... back in the 1990's....
Do you happen to have any photos!!!
